Sparkling Rosé Wine
Is Sparkling Rosé wine good for every occasion?
The short answer is: Yes, of course! Sparkling Rosé wine can be enjoyed at anytime and anywhere. Let me tell you a short and personal story of why this is true.
As a wine enthusiast and foodie, I love to try different varieties of wine and food pairings. I also have a Spanish background but grew up in the tropics where there is summer-like weather all year long. This meant that my family and I enjoyed the most famous Spanish winter dishes regardless of the season! Get this: the famous earthy and meaty Spanish cocido and chestnuts in the summer. The season didn't matter, we enjoyed every meal together with a Born Rosé Barcelona.
So you see! What matters the most is that you end up enjoying the moment. There is something about the Sparkling Rosé wines that lights up every moment, making it more special. Whether it is the aromas, the taste, or fizzing bubbles, there is a Sparkling Rosé out there waiting for you to pop the cork and enjoy!
What kind of grape is used to make Sparkling Rosé wine?
The most commonly used grapes to make Sparkling wines are: white Chardonnay grapes, Pinot Meunier grapes, and red Pinot Noir grapes. It is also possible to blend these grape varieties to obtain other Sparkling wines. Our Sparkling Rosé wine (BRUT) comes directly from the Penedés region, in Catalonia, and is made from 100% organic red Pinot Noir.
Pinot Noir is a black grape produced predominantly in France and is responsible for some of the best wine varieties out there. Typically, Pinot Noir produces dry, light to medium-bodied wines with bright acidity and tannins.
How is Sparkling Rosé wine made?
There are two main methods to produce Sparkling Rosé wine: the traditional and the Charmat method. But, for now, let's just focus on the Charmat method.. Method we use to create our Sparkling Rosé wine (BRUT).
Named after the engineer who developed it back in 1907, Eugène Charmat, this method uses yeast and sugar to cause a second fermentation of the rosé base wine to gain the desired fizzy bubbles. The process takes place in closed steel tanks under controlled pressure and takes 1-6 weeks. See! Easy breezy!
The Charmant method helps retain the aromas better than the traditional method, where the wine is filtered and bottled without aging after the second fermentation causing the wine to have fresh fruit accents.
