It all starts in the Penedès

This is a story that begins with macerating the grape skins and...

Yes ROSÉ lover, today we’re going to talk a bit more about what we love so much. Today we’re going to discover some ROSÉ secrets. Specifically, our ROSÉ. Ladies and gentlemen, get your glasses at the ready because today we’re flying to the incredible wine region of Penedès in Catalonia.

If you’re a full-blown wine enthusiast, this is a region you must visit. The area is covered in vineyards and the towns and villages boast an enviable cuisine. And the sunlight? The Penedès region has some of the best sunsets in the world. But back to the wine! Today we delve into our pride and joy with Joan Rovira, our head oenologist and one of those who knows our family of ROSÉs best.

Delving into our ROSÉ

And like a fairy tale, Joan begins the story with it. With maceration. The divine colour of ROSÉ comes from leaving the hollejos or the grape skins to macerate for a longer or shorter period of time. But if you didn't know, this ROSÉ story begins as if it were a red wine. Magic? No, science...

A colour in the glass that gives meaning to the name of our ROSÉ’s shade. "BR's colour would be rose petal. It also ranges from the bluest shades to the most salmon-coloured". He tells us.

But let's take it one step at a time Joan. You've already shown us the first term (hollejo!) but... we’re dying to know. We can see sooo many vines here that we can't imagine how many it takes to produce one bottle of BR. Joan has the answer . "Well, around 1 kilo 300 grams. About 4 bunches of grapes". Wow! (We can now say that when we drink our glass of ROSÉ, we’ve already had our daily portion of fruit).

Organic, vegan, ecological ROSÉ... What’s the difference?

And this is something that we love the most and that you ask us about the most, ROSÉ lovers. It is true, however, that these three terms often cause confusion.

Joan, tell us why our ROSÉs are not only organic but also vegan. "It's simple. A wine has these two characteristics when no animal products have been used in its production process and the environment has been respected". Wait, wait, then the term organic... "An organic wine guarantees that the vineyard has been treated with organic products and that in the winemaking process the product has been used in the most natural way possible, always avoiding synthetic products". Got it!

BORN ROSÉ experience

Joan, you know every last drop of BORN ROSÉ. Tell us what is the first sensation you get when you take your first sip. (This is when winemakers turn into poets). "It's fruity, it’s floral. It's a sweet wine full of life that you can’t stop drinking". ROSÉ lover, if you have tried our BR, have you had the same feeling?

We have to tell you Joan that with these words our mouths are watering... But let's continue. What are those qualities that make BORN ROSÉ a special ROSÉ? "Without a doubt the most important thing is not to lose the freshness and to preserve the floral and fruity aromas. Also, to keep its colour and preserve it over time and to keep it sweet".

And to end this journey through our ROSÉ glass, we must ask you. What would be the word that defines BORN ROSÉ? Joan doesn't have to think about it too hard and answers confidently, "It is a harmonious rosé wine, both on the nose and on the palate, it fits the style we’re looking for".
